Our Mission
Advancing Whole Grains
From the founder of Grist & Toll flour mill in Pasadena ,CA, what began as a local wheat and milling enterprise has grown into an expanded mission of community and sustainability.
We're building a network of collaborators from seed to plate on behalf of increasing whole grain flour production and the pursuit of more delicious whole grain food on our plates, especially for the most vulnerable members of society who are systematically overlooked and out-priced. School lunch programs, food banks and other community-based organizations need better access to nutritional whole grain foods. True Grist is leading the charge for equity and accessibility.

Industrial agriculture and food manufacturing floods the market with refined flour, refined sugar and highly processed food. It prioritizes wealth over health and holds all the economic advantages with no incentive to change.
Advancing sustainable grain crops and nutritious whole wheat food requires thinking outside the box and working outside of the establishment and its systems.
